The World-Systems Perspective and Latin America
35 Years After The Modern World-System I
On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the publication of Volume I of The Modern World-System by Immanuel Wallerstein, the 3rd Brazilian Colloquium on the Political Economy of the World–System will provide an opportunity to debate and explore connections between the world-systems perspective and Latin America.
To this end, we welcome the submission of academic contributions that (1) employ a world-systems perspective in their study of social, political, economic and/or cultural processes in Latin America (no matter the particular historical period on which they focus;) and or (2) evaluate the work and the perspective advanced by Immanuel Wallerstein, particularly in relation to the social sciences in Latin America.
